Pedestrian hit and killed in fatal crosswalk
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office reports Officer Denny Waggoner was driving north on East Martin Luther King Parkway when he struck a pedestrian before making a left onto the street. The pedestrian died at the scene.
The pedestrian, identified as 31-year-old Tamiya Miller, had just walked her two dogs off the front stoop when she str안산출장샵uck the officer in the head, the Sheriff’s Office reported. No other injury was reported.

A GoFundMe page for Miller has been set up to help cover funeral expenses and the cost of her funeral at The Episcopal Church in Lakeland. A GoFundMe page has been set up by the family to help cover any travel expenses incurred by Waggoner to the funeral in Orlando.
The officer’s death is the fourth deadly traffic collision in the county this year.
The driver of a motorcycle was killed last month on St. Petersburg Avenue in Sarasota and the driver of a truck killed and injured three others in Sarasota in August.
